Loon Lake off-road vehicle fun run attracts record attendance

The weather cooperated on May 17 for the 50 drivers and 30 passengers taking part

The Off-Road Vehicle Fun Run in Loon Lake on May 17 was a huge success, with a record attendance of 50 drivers and 30 passengers taking part.

More than 100 people in total were there to participate or watch as drivers tackled a course full of challenges and games that tested their navigational and driving skills. Mother Nature lent a hand, with great weather on the day.

When the dust and mud had settled, first place went to Randy Turgeon; Jake Jackson placed second, and Michelle Treciokas took third.

There were trophies for the winners, and prizes galore thanks to many local businesses and organizations in Loon Lake, Cache Creek, and Ashcroft, as well as more than a dozen individuals. A crew of volunteers worked hard to make sure that the race, and the barbecue that followed, went off without a hitch.

The event was put on by the Loon Lake Community Recreational and Agricultural Society, which hosts a variety of events throughout the year. For more information, visit their website at https://loonlakecommunity.ca/.
