Don’t forget about the Advanced Care Planning Fair taking place at the Ashcroft Community Hall on Bancroft Street on Thursday, Oct. 17. There will be two sessions (1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.), with door prizes and refreshments available.
This free event is open to all adults, with attendees able to go at their own pace and get advice from experts on a variety of topics, including legal and financial matters, insurance, wills/estates, medical services and supports, hospice, funeral arrangements, and more. Dance party
Thompson Cariboo Minor Hockey is holding a season-opening dance party at the Ashcroft HUB from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18. The event is open to all children aged 0 to 17 years (children under 7 must be accompanied by a responsible adult), and players are encouraged to bring their friends with them and celebrate the opening of another hockey season.
Tickets for children are $8 each and include the candy bar, snacks, and refreshments; there will also be door prizes. Parents get in for free, and tickets can be purchased in advance from any TCMHA team manager or at the door on the night.
Equality Project celebrates 10 years
The Equality Project is commemorating a decade of blessings on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The celebration is open to all, and will honour the Project’s founding members and dedicated volunteers.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided, and the program will include music, slideshows, and a Q & A panel complete with open mic. Come and join the party at the Project’s clubhouse at 1260 Stage Road in Cache Creek.
Clinton Seniors’ marketplace
The Clinton Seniors’ Association is holding its Fall Marketplace on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clinton Memorial Hall. There will be something for everyone, from new and used items, baking, and crafts to a peel and pay raffle and a concession.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser
The Savona Seniors’ Association is holding its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 2. They will be serving up spaghetti dinner and all the trimmings for $10 per plate, and dinners can be picked up between 5 and 7 p.m. on Nov. 2 from the Seniors’ Centre.

Lillooet Legion bazaar
The Lillooet Legion is holding its first ever bazaar on Sunday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Legion building. The event will feature arts and crafts, along with a wide variety of other homegrown and handmade items.

Clinton Seniors’ AGM
The Clinton Seniors’ Association will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 17 at the Seniors’ Centre (217 Smith Avenue) starting at 1 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend and find out about plans for the upcoming year.
Holiday Train
All aboard! The CPKC Holiday Train will be crossing Canada in support of local food banks in November and December, and CPKC has confirmed that the train will be pulling into Ashcroft on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at approximately 8:35 p.m. The train will be stopping beside the CPKC station building on Railway Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets.
Million Dollar Bursary
Applications for the 2025 Million Dollar Bursary Award from Beem Credit Union are now being accepted. The program will see up to 1,000 bursaries of $1,000 each awarded to qualifying graduating students throughout the area served by Beem, which includes Ashcroft and Cache Creek.
Information about the Million Dollar Bursary Program is available at all Beem Credit Union branches, as well as on Beem’s website and social media channels. Applications will be accepted until Feb. 28, 2025.
Hospice Society
The Ashcroft and District Hospice Society office at 509 Railway Avenue in Ashcroft is now open every Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The office has a wide variety of resources to help people deal with grief and loss, and a library of materials that are free to borrow or take. You can also speak with someone, at no charge and in complete confidence.
