Interior Health has issued a drug alert for Cranbrook for a drug that looks like pink chunks, powder or pebbles and is being sold as down.
This drug contains fluorofentanyl, ketamine and benzodiazepine (unspecified). The associated risks of this drug includes fatal overdose. Other risks include nausea, amnesia, sleepiness and nodding off for extended periods of time. According to the alert, smoking this drug is not safer than injecting it.
"Ketamine is a dissociative anaesthetic," IH said in the alert. "In higher doses, it can cause immobilization, loss of body control, dizziness and hallucinations. The combination of fluorofentanyl, ketamine and benzodiazepines can lead to significant sedation. Overdose symptoms may last beyond administration of Naloxone."
