An inmate was injured during an assault last Friday (June 20) at Matsqui Institution in Abbotsford and was treated in hospital, according to Correctional Service Canada (CSC).
The CSC stated in a press release on Tuesday (June 24) that the assailants have been identified and "the appropriate actions have been taken."
CSC said no staff members or other inmates were injured.
The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating the incident at the medium-security prison.
No further details have been provided.
