Aluminum goalposts were recently stolen from Errington Elementary School, breaking the hearts students who used the equipment during recess.
A Good Samaritan has come through to save the day for the school. A marine company based in Sidney, Shockwave Seats, has generously offered to build and donate a brand-new soccer goal to the school.
Shockwave Seats, which produces boating equipment, also produces ScoreMaster Goals. The new goalposts are expected to be ready for use when school resumes in the fall.
The goal is believed to have been stolen on the weekend of June 7 and June 8, leaving school officials puzzled.
Vice-principal Jenny Lunny said it would be difficult to steal the equipment and would require several people and a big vehicle for transport. They were "bewildered" by the theft.
The school staff members and students extended their heartfelt thanks to Shockwave Seats for their generosity and support. They also expressed a huge thank you to the community for spreading the word and bringing attention to the issue.
