Two decades following the disappearance of Esquimalt's Belinda Cameron, the Victoria Police Department says detectives remain committed to bringing closure to her family.
Cameron, the mother of two girls, was last seen on May 11, 2005 at the Shoppers Drug Mart in the 800-block of Esquimalt Road and reported missing a month later on June 4.
"Police conducted an extensive investigation, including over 100 interviews and searches involving canine and helicopter units," noted a VicPD news release. "Belinda’s disappearance remains suspicious. Now adults, Belinda’s daughters are seeking answers about their mother’s disappearance."
At the time of her disappearance, Belinda was a 42-year-old Indigenous woman who stood at 5'8" with a medium build, and weighed approximately 170 pounds. She had long, dark brown hair that she wore parted in the middle, and dark brown eyes, along with silver-framed glasses.
Anyone with information on where Cameron may be, or what may have happened to her, is asked to call VicPD's Historical Case Review Office at 250-995-7390, or call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
