Community social
The Ashcroft Literacy Program and the Village of Cache Creek are hosting a community social event at the Cache Creek Community Hall (basement meeting room) on Friday, April 11 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. This fun, free family event will feature literacy activities, games, snacks, refreshments, and door prizes, and all are welcome (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult).
Clinton archery
Bullseye! Youth and adult archery is returning to Clinton, thanks to the Clinton Minor Sports Association. Registration takes place at the Clinton Arena on Friday, April 11 starting at 3:30 p.m., and classes will be held on Wednesdays starting on April 16. There will be classes for youth aged 8 and up from 3:30 to 4:30 and from 5 to 6 p.m., while classes for adults will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

Spring fling
The Equality Project in Cache Creek is holding a Spring Fling from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, and all are invited. Festivities will be held at the clubhouse (1260 Stage Road), and will include a light lunch, silent auction, door prizes, and a bake sale, as well as good company. Admission is $2 per person, and members and non-members are invited to come down and welcome in the spring season.
Flea market
Bonaparte First Nation is holding a flea market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 at the Bonaparte quonset building. The market is open to all vendors, and the cost is $10 per space, with the money going to the Bonaparte Youth Department to assist them with their trip to Vancouver. Clinton Easter breakfast
Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle and Living Waters Christian Fellowship are hosting an Easter breakfast at the Clinton Memorial Hall on Sunday, April 13. The breakfast starts at 9:30 a.m., and all are welcome.
Neighbourhood Small Grants
Do you have a creative idea that will bring your neighbours together or make your community a little brighter? The Neighbourhood Small Grants program awards community members throughout B.C. with grants of up to $500 to plan and host a wide variety of projects.
No experience is necessary, people of all ages and backgrounds can participate, and applications to the program are quick and simple. Grants are given to anyone with an idea that contributes to their community.

Ashcroft-Cache Creek seniors
The Ashcroft-Cache Creek Seniors will be holding their monthly meeting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17 at the seniors’ centre (601 Bancroft Street, Ashcroft). They will be discussing plans for their annual spring tea and bazaar, and all are welcome to attend, provide input, and stay for some fun.
Suddenly One
The Suddenly One: Building Connections program has returned, and takes place every other Thursday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Ashcroft Library (private meeting room at the back). The next meeting will be on Thursday, April 17.
Suddenly One is for men and women of all ages who suddenly find themselves alone. The event will feature coffee, tea, and conversation, with people able to share their thoughts, stories, and experiences surrounding loss and living alone. There is no agenda; topics and activities are up to the participants, all in an accessible, respectful, and confidential space.
There is no cost to take part, and participants can attend as many or as few sessions as they would like. For more information, email ashcroft.hospice@gmail.com.
Workout class
All are invited to a workout class at the Cook’s Ferry gym in Spences Bridge on Thursday, April 24 from 5 to 6 p.m. Bring walking shoes and a water bottle.
Savona pancake breakfast
The Savona Area Seniors’ Society is holding a pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 26 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Savona Seniors’ Centre. The cost is $15 per person (children 6 and under free), and breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon, coffee, and juice; there will also be a raffle. 70 Mile spring craft fair

Clinton Seedy Sunday
It’s back! The Clinton Communities in Bloom Beautification Society is hosting its annual Seedy Sunday event on April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Clinton Memorial Hall. Join fellow gardeners and green thumbs, as well as representatives from the TNRD, who will have information about integrated pest management and solid waste and recycling; High Bar First Nation, who will be there with Indigenous products and information; and the Thompson Shuswap Master Gardeners, who can answer your gardening questions.
There will also be people on hand to talk about FireSmart, honey production and beekeeping, and soil information; a Kids’ Corner, where kids of all ages can create their own stepping stones; a chance to sign up for a Community Garden plot or the 2025 pumpkin growing contest; plant sales; a by-donation plant and seed swap; a concession featuring chili, soup, cornbread, and goodies; door prizes; and a silent auction. Admission is by donation. Get ready to get growing!
Savona spring tea
The Savona Heritage Committee is hosting its annual spring tea and luncheon on Sunday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Savona Heritage Museum (6640 Tingley Street). Admission is by donation, and all are invited to enjoy tea or lunch at the museum and check out what’s new there.
Cache Creek market
The Cache Creek Market will be returning for its 15th season on Saturday, May 3. Located next to the Cache Creek Library, the market will be open every Saturday until October from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and feature plants, produce, food items, handcrafted items, textiles, gently-used treasures, and more.
The cost for vendors is $5 per site, with funds raised going to the Cache Creek Beautification Society. Vendors do not need a business licence or insurance, but anyone selling homemade food should have a FoodSafe certificate. Local non-profits are allowed one free site per month. Deadmans Creek rodeo
The annual Deadmans Creek Rodeo is coming up at the rodeo grounds on Highway 1 west of Savona on May 3 and 4, with rodeo action starting at 1 p.m. each day. The family-friendly event is fun for everyone, and all are welcome. Please note that it is cash only on site.
Lytton show and shine
Can’t wait for Graffiti Days in Cache Creek in September? Whet your appetite for classic cars during Canyon Cruise 2025 and the Lytton Show and shine, taking place at the Pines Motel on Highway 1 at Lytton on Sunday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include a barbecue, music, swag bags, and raffle prizes, and there is no registration fee.

New hours for solid waste sites
As of April 1, several TNRD Eco-Depots and Transfer stations have shifted to summer hours. The Logan Lake Eco-Depot is now open on Sundays; the Loon Lake Transfer Station is now open on Saturdays and has longer hours each day (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.); and the 70 Mile Eco-Depot is now open Tuesdays, and has longer hours each day (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
