If the weather cooperates, crews plan to pave portions of Blanshard Street, limiting lanes one each direction May 22 and 23.
Road users and residents can expect noise, dust and odours as Don Mann Excavating Ltd. gets to grinding and removing existing asphalt, then paving Blanshard Street from Fort to Broughton.
Broughton Street between Douglas and Quadra streets will see temporary closures for equipment removal.
The work, which could be delayed by cold or wet conditions, will take place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The project aims to improve traffic flow with repaving, traffic signal upgrades and new left turn lanes. Work includes protected bicycle lanes, safer crosswalks and improved lighting to support people walking, riding and rolling.
The project is anticipated to be completed this spring.
Urgent worksite safety concerns should be reported to 250-882-3478.
