The Desert Sands Rams girls’ soccer team has had a successful season so far. Girls in Grades 8–12 have been competing in various competitions throughout the season.

In addition to our regular league play, we have competed in tournaments in Merritt and Kelowna, recording notable wins over Merritt Secondary, Hope Secondary, and NorKam Secondary. We have compiled an overall record of 7-7-1 and enter our league playoffs in third place.

On Wednesday, May 8 we hosted Lillooet Secondary School in a local School District No. 74 friendly match, here in Ashcroft.

The Desert Sands Rams defeated the Lillooet Badgers 5–0, with goals being scored by Mady Hiltz, Kaylee O’Brien, Leanne Belcourt, Monique Kopanyas, and Peyton Taylor.

The Desert Sands Rams are next attempting to qualify for this season’s “Okanagans” regional championships, which is a qualifying tournament for BC Provincials.
