Motorists travelling on Wallace Drive in Central Saanich should anticipate potential delays until June 13.
Paving work is underway between Blossom Park and Lisnoe Avenue, resulting in single-lane alternating traffic from Monday to Friday.
The district is prioritizing school bus and transit routes to minimize disruptions.
Bus stops remain open, but temporary relocations may occur, so it's recommended to allow extra travel time.
Pedestrians can continue using the sidewalk.
Drivers are urged to adhere to the 30 km/h speed limit within the active construction zone, follow guidance from traffic control personnel and plan for an alternate route if possible.
The paving follows the recent completion of the water main installation on Wallace Drive.
A few upcoming projects based on the district's Active Transportation Plan community priorities are also scheduled to be carried out next, including a crosswalk with flashing beacons at Cultra Avenue, continued bike lanes, a sidewalk between Cultra and Lisnoe Avenues and bus stop accessibility improvements; these projects are expected to be completed this fall.
