Everyone is invited to take in events showcasing Stó:lō culture and history in Chilliwack and Mission this summer.
"Stó:lō Tourism, Stó:lō Service Agency, and the Stó:lō Resource and Research Management Centre are proud to present the Cultural Experience Series 2025, now underway," according to the event poster from organizers.
There are three events getting underway on Tuesday at the Xáytem site in Mission for the remainder of this month.
"Join the Cultural Education team every Tuesday in July at Xáytem Cultural Centre in Mission," according to the poster from Stó:lō Tourism.
The dates are July 15, July 22, and July 29 for Xáytem events, located at 35087 Lougheed Hwy., Mission.
Then the summertime series comes back to Chilliwack.
"In August, the series continues every Thursday at the Coqualeetza Longhouse," which is located on the Coqualeetza grounds in Chilliwack, off Vedder Road.
Those Chilliwack dates are Aug. 6, Aug. 14, Aug. 21, and Aug. 28, from 10:30 a.m. to noon., with the longhouse as the meeting place.
Additional ground tours will also take place in Chilliwack on July 16, and Aug. 13, with folks meeting in front of the Stó:lō Resource Centre (building 10), at 7201 Vedder Road.
The former residential school, St. Mary’s in Mission will see two ground tours, with participants meeting in front of the building at 34110 Lougheed Hwy., on July 17 and Aug. 20, 10:30 a.m. to noon.
