Crews attend car fire in Vernon

The fire was reportedly in the East Hill area of Vernon

A car fire was seen in Vernon's East Hill area around midnight Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024.

Firefighters in Vernon responded to a vehicle fire around in Vernon's East Hill area Friday, Sept. 20.

Vernon Fire Rescue Services responded to the call at approximately 11:45 p.m.

A photo sent to The Morning Star showed a vehicle fully engulfed in flames with firefighters on scene.

"Crews used a bumper line to extinguish the flames, and the fire was contained to the vehicle," said the City of Vernon in a release issued Monday, Sept. 23. "At this time, no further information is available."
