Mark Saturday, May 24 (7 p.m.) on your calendar for the Bach to Bach Baroque Concert at St. Alban’s Church in Ashcroft.

It is presented courtesy of the works of some musical “partners in crime” — Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and his daughter Anna Carolina Philippina, as well as Leopold Mozart and his famous son Wolfgang Amadeus — who will take you on a trip from 18th century Europe to modern-day Canada with music by J.S. Bach and some of his family members.

Performers Anika Howell (soprano), Ivan Vutev (counter tenor), Cvetozar Vutev (violin), and Curtis Howell (harpsichord/organ) will help us solve the mystery of these musical partners in crime as we once again enjoy fabulous music in the great acoustics of St. Alban’s.

We are happy to welcome the Chamber Musicians of Kamloops, as they are committed to performing in the rural areas of the Thompson-Okanagan as well as in Kamloops. It is their mission to enrich our cultural lives by increasing our enjoyment and appreciation of classical music, which has influenced all the forms of music that followed in one way or another.

It’s a great way to start your staycation at home, and there’s plenty of time to fill the piggy bank with the $20 for tickets (tickets for children 12 to 18 are $10; children under 12 are free). Reserve your tickets early by emailing alice@durksen.ca or calling (250) 457-3227.
