Dropping off of leaves and other yard waste at the District of Coldstream's transfer station on Middleton Drive has been cancelled for 2025 due to operational requirements.

The District of Coldstream is temporarily re-purposing its transfer station site on Middleton Drive.

It was announced Thursday, April 24, the move is due to operational requirements.

The district has been using the site for storage of parks landscaping, and some road repair materials, as the construction of the new public works building has impacted available space at the municipal yard.

So, because of that, the Middleton transfer station is not suitable for leaf drop-off, or to receive garden waste.

"The District of Coldstream understands this is a valued service to the community and apologizes for the inconvenience," said the district in a release.

The Greater Vernon Diversion and Disposal Facility, located at 120 Birnie Rd., offers free drop-off of yard waste to Coldstream residents.
