Princeton is ready to kick off Canada's 158th birthday in style.

Canada Day festivities get underway at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1 at the newly-renovated Bridge Street Plaza and will run until 1:30 p.m., followed by a free swim at the Centennial Outdoor Pool from 2 to 4 p.m. The Tulameen & District Fire Department (TDFD) will also be hosting its annual Canada Day barbeque at the fire hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At the plaza, there will be a DJ playing live music throughout the day, along with highland dancers providing entertainment. Foods such as burgers, hot dogs and cake will be available, and there will also be community market vendors, group fun booths and emergency services vehicles to explore.

TDFD will also have hot dogs and cake, as well as prizes.

The celebration of Canada's history, culture and beauty is supported by local agencies and funded by the Government of Canada.
