To accommodate people hopping through for Easter, the Bruhn Bridge in Sicamous will remain open throughout the holiday.
An update to the government website on the project announced a prolonged work stoppage over the long weekend starting Thursday afternoon through to Tuesday morning.
"There will be no traffic impacts from 12 p.m. on April 17 to 12 p.m. on April 22, 2025 to accommodate the Easter holiday," it states.
Despite that break in work, however, the reduced speed limit of 50 km/hr along that stretch of Highway 1 will remain "in effect 24/7, even when construction crews are not working."
The update also said that though beach access under the bridge is temporarily closed due to the construction, it will reopen by April 15, while the boat launch and narrows remain open for marine use throughout the year.
Updates on the bridge work and road closures can be found on the government's Bruhn Bridge website.
