Route65
Seniors and their family members will now have an even easier time finding seniors’ living, wellness, and care options in B.C. thanks to Route65.ca, a free, online directory that helps the public connect with independent living, assisted living, long-term care, and home health providers.
Route65.ca — a collaboration between the BC Care Providers Association and EngAge BC, the leading voice of B.C.’s continuing care sector — was initially developed in 2019 to address a visible gap in quality information about navigating B.C.’s care continuum and accessing seniors’ living, wellness, and care options in B.C.
With its recent relaunch, Route65.ca offers an accessible website where older adults can confidently browse services on a centralized platform, while simultaneously having the opportunity to connect with providers directly. It offers accessibility tools while browsing, as well as the ability for users to filter by category, city, amenities, services, and languages to help fit their specific needs.
Report illegal dumping
Did you know that the Thompson-Nicola Regional District has an active back country clean-up program? In 2023 the TNRD cleaned up 14 illegally dumped and abandoned waste sites and supported six community clean-up events. The 14 sites that were cleared contained approximately 32 tonnes of waste, and many items found at the sites are free to dispose of at Eco-Depots and some Transfer Stations.
Reports from the public are crucial when it comes to addressing illegal dumping. You can report illegal dumping online to the TNRD at tnrd.ca/illegal-dump-sites. Please also report all illegal dumping to the RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277, or #7277 on your cellphone.
