The City of Abbotsford and the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce have announced the Manufacturing Industry Tour will return this fall.

The event, which showcases Abbotsford’s healthy manufacturing sector, debuted in 2024 and will return this year on Friday, Oct. 3.

The day-long bus tour will take participants inside four local leading manufacturers: Longboard Architectural Products, Clearbrook Iron Works, BE Power Equipment, and Tiger Tool.

Attendees will receive first-hand insight into the processes, people, and technologies of each local manufacturer. The tour also features guest speakers from the manufacturing sector, a group lunch, and valuable networking opportunities.

According to the event press release from the City, Abbotsford's manufacturing industry is the cornerstone of the local economy, generating over $1 billion in annual sales and supporting more than 8,000 jobs. The sector plays a key role in driving innovation, attracting investment, and strengthening the region’s economic resilience. The tour offers a unique opportunity for community and business leaders to go behind the scenes at some of Abbotsford’s most successful and forward-thinking manufacturing companies while exploring opportunities for collaboration among local manufacturers, businesses, and government.

Longboard Architectural Products, located at Unit 120, 1777 Clearbrook Rd., specializes in cladding products for commercial and high-end residential buildings. The company initially started as Mayne Coatings in Langley and then began the move to Abbotsford and its state-of-the-art 350,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in 2017. The operating company changed its name from Mayne Coatings Corporation to Longboard Architectural Products in 2020.

Clearbrook Iron Works, found at 715 Sumas Way, are structural steel fabricators that work with the construction industry. They originally opened as a railing shop in 1956 and have been involved with significant local projects including the Langley Events Centre and McCallum Junction.

BE Power Equipment, located at 30585A Progressive Way, serves industrial markets with high-quality industrial products such as pressure washers, generators, water pumps and more. Braber Equipment was founded in 1969 by Bill Braber in Abbotsford and then in 1991 Nick Braber (Bill's son) created BE Pressure Supply and quickly became Canada's largest manufacturer of pressure washers. The company was re-branded in 2018 as BE Power Equipment.

Tiger Tool, found at #160, 34434 McConnell Rd., specialize in automotive, commercial and mining tools and have been in business since 1984. Their products can be found at dealers throughout British Columbia and Washington State and they also claim to have created the world’s most efficient and effective universal joint puller.

The event sees attendees meet at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre (parking lot G), with the bus departing at approximately 8:30 a.m. There will be a mid-day break  with lunch provided. The full tour schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
