Operators of The Social Tavern are hosting a talent contest to find performers to showcase at another Fleetwood Block Party this summer.
Submissions are now accepted for Fleetwood's Got Talent, a contest open to all ages and talents.
Contest winners will get to perform at Social Tavern's second annual Block Party, planned Saturday, July 19 in the parking lot.
"We are inviting local performers of all ages and talents to apply for the chance to compete live on stage in front of a lively crowd and guest judges," says a post on the contest website, socialtavern.ca/contest.

"Up to 10 performers will be selected, each with a one in 10 shot at winning the $500 cash prize. If you have a talent that can entertain a crowd — dancing, comedy, magic, beatboxing, martial arts, acrobatics, skateboarding, music, yo-yo tricks, or anything unexpected — we want to see it! Deadline to apply is June 30, 2025."
Social Tavern opened in 2023 at 8410 160 St. in Fleetwood.
“Surrey is home to some very talented individuals and we are very excited to see what people come forward with," said Jon Campbell, tavern owner.
"We are really hoping to get some unique performers and talents to showcase at our annual block party.”
The summer Block Party will feature live outdoor entertainment, bands, music and DJs. "Street food" will be made by chef Rodrigo Ferrera, and a beer garden is sponsored by Granville Island Brewing. Additional event sponsors include Fleetwood Business Improvement Association and The Social Tavern, which is described as "a locally owned and operated space to gather with friends, family, and neighbours to share food and drink.
"We boast an elevated American tavern-style food menu and a bar that presents 16 draft beer, alongside casual wine and cocktail menus. Lively upbeat atmosphere that offers events, dining, drinks, and good times."
