Tim Hortons Camp Day returns across Canada on Wednesday, July 16, and locally, Trail Tim Hortons is looking for volunteers to support the fundraiser at its Kootenay locations.
One hundred per cent of proceeds from hot and iced coffees, along with the Camp Day Donut, will go directly to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
These funds help provide underserved youth with access to leadership programming they might not otherwise experience.
Nicole and Mitch MacMillan, owners of the Trail Tim Hortons, say they’re honoured to take part in the nationwide effort again this year and are reaching out for help.
Volunteers are needed for a few hours on July 16 to keep the fundraiser running smoothly.
Tasks may include pouring coffee, hosting a game, or thanking guests for their donations.
Volunteers are welcome to give as much or as little time as they can spare.
“Whether you can spare an hour or two, your time and presence will truly make a difference,” the MacMillans said.
To sign up, contact Aiden Macintyre at aiden@timhortonsbc.com with your preferred time slot and store location.
Pre-orders for coffee — whether for family, friends, or co-workers — are also being accepted, with every dollar going to the cause on July 16.
The MacMillans note that in recent years, their stores have ranked among the top in Canada for Camp Day fundraising and they’re determined to keep that momentum going.
“We’re grateful for the continued support of our community and would love to have you join us in making this year’s Camp Day another huge success,” they added.
The story behind Trail Tim Hortons is rooted in family and community service.
Paul and Beryl Stawarz purchased their first two Tim Hortons locations in Penticton in 1992.
Today, the Stawarz family, including daughter Nicole MacMillan (Stawarz), owns restaurants throughout the Southern Interior, from Osoyoos to Summerland and across the Kootenay region, including Trail.
“It’s about being engaged and supporting these small communities wherever we can,” the family says.
Their restaurants support a wide range of local initiatives year-round, including Smile Cookie, Camp Day, and Timbits sports.
In 2024, the MacMillans announced $67,000 was raised across their locations for Tim Hortons Foundation Camps, $2,000 more than the year before.
Nationwide, Camp Day raised $12.8 million in 2024.
On July 16, Trail Tim Hortons invites the community to once again show its support, one coffee, donut, or volunteer shift at a time.
