The Trail Smoke Eaters have acquired the rights to Western Michigan University commit, Otto Hanson.
The Smokies picked up the five-foot-11, 19-year-old forward from the Okotoks Oilers in exchange for forward Josh Wiebe.
Hanson tallied five goals and 12 points in 30 games last season with Okotoks.
Hanson spent the previous two full seasons in Blackfalds with the Bulldogs. The Calgary product collected six goals and 17 points in 56 games with Blackfalds during the 2023-24 regular season.
The Smoke Eaters acquired Wiebe in a trade with the Brooks Bandits in December 2024.
Also a Western Michigan commit, the 20-year-old forward scored two goals and seven points in 16 games for Trail.
