Duncan Christian School won the Chargers Challenge senior boys basketball tournament Feb. 2-3 at DCS.

The host team was joined by three other Cowichan schools, Quw'utsun Black, Quw'utsun Red and Queen Margaret's School in the eight-team event, and in the end it was two local teams, DCS and Quw'utsun Black, playing for all the glory.

To get there, DCS first beat Campbell River Christian School 78-59. From there they met Parkland, and beat them 79-45.

As for Quw'utsun Black, they began their tournament with a 63-56 win over Brookes Westshore before beating classmates Quw'utsun Red to advance to the final.

In the end DCS was too much for Quw'utsun Black to handle, with the host team winning its own tournament 89-63.

Quw'utsun Red ended the tournament in fifth while QMS was seventh of eight teams.

The tournament MVP went to Grayson Dunn of DCS.

Nick Abi HAnna (DCS), Lief Bruhn (Quw'utsun Black), Christian (Quw'utsun Red), and J. Zhang (QMS) were all named all-stars.
