Canada Cup schedule revealed for South Surrey international tourney

Canada will open play against New Zealand on July 8

Get ready to watch elite athletes from around the world play ball.
 
This year's Canada Cup Women’s International Softball Championship, one of the premier international softball events, will kick off Monday, July 7 at Softball City in South Surrey. The tournament will feature high-level women’s fastpitch teams from around the globe and across Canada, showcasing some of the top female athletes in the sport.

With more than 1,500 athletes expected, Team Canada begins its tournament campaign on Tuesday, July 8, facing off in two key matchups: New Zealand at 6 p.m. and Ukraine at 8:30 p.m., a Canada Cup release noted.

The following day, Canada returns to the diamond for contests against Team BC at 1 p.m. and Czechia at 6:30 p.m., before wrapping up pool play on Thursday, July 10 with a game against the SoCal Sting at 6 p.m.

This year’s tournament is packed with marquee matchups, including Greece vs. Netherlands on July 7 at 6 p.m., and an exciting clash between Team BC and world No. 8 Czechia on Tuesday, July 8 at 3:30 p.m.

The competition showcases some of the top female athletes from all-across Canada and the world as well as at the national and club level. The event includes four other divisions: Futures Select (U19), Futures Gold (U19), Showcase Select (17U) and Showcase Gold (17U).
