Take me out to the ballgame — at Softball City in South Surrey this July.
That's when the Canada Cup International Softball Championship — the biggest and best international fastpitch tournament in the country — returns to Surrey, happening this year from July 4 to July 13.
An event that attracts more than 1,500 high-level athletes to the Semiahmoo Peninsula, the tournament showcases some of the top female athletes from all across Canada and the world at the national and club level.
The powerhouse Canadian national team is set to play again this year, after winning last year's championship with an undefeated 8-0 record.
“We are thrilled to welcome the world back to Surrey for the 2025 Canada Cup,” said Canada Cup chair Greg Timm.
“This tournament is about more than just sport, it’s a celebration of culture, competition, and community. It’s where the world comes to play, and where future Olympic stars shine.”
In addition to Team Canada, some of the world’s top-ranked national programs will be competing, including Czechia, Greece, Ukraine, Israel, Netherlands, New Zealand, and two elite teams from the U.S.: TC Colorado and SoCal Sting.
A popular tournament for spectators, Canada Cup includes five divisions: Women’s International, Futures Select (U19), Futures Gold (U19), Showcase Select (17U) and Showcase Gold (17U).
“Each year, the Canada Cup grows in stature, and 2025 is shaping up to be one of our most competitive and inspiring tournaments yet,” Timm noted. “The athletes, the fans, the volunteers, everyone plays a part in making this a truly world-class event.”
