Those strolling through Oak Bay in recent weeks may have noticed the collection of sculptures scattered about town.

These nine works are part of Arts Alive – the district’s annual public-art exhibit, which has brought creatives' creations to Oak Bay's streets and parks since 2014.

On July 17, representatives from the district's department of parks, recreation and culture will lead a guided tour of the public installations from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. The event is set to begin at McNeill Bay, taking attendees down Beach Drive, along Estavan Avenue and through the Village, with plenty of twists and turns along the way.

Following the walk, a reception will take place from 8 to 9 p.m. at Windsor Park's Scented Gardens, where attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artists behind the eye-catching, thought-provoking works.

The public will also be able to vote for their favourite creation between July 17 and Nov. 30, after which time the district will consider purchasing one of the top-voted sculptures.

To register for the tour, visit oakbayrec.perfectmind.com or call 250-595-7946. The tour's map and more information about each of the sculptures can be accessed at: oakbay.ca/community-culture/arts-culture/arts-alive.
