The 100 Mile House RCMP were kept busy for the last week of 2024.

100 Mile House RCMP Sgt. Brian Lamb said officers responded to 76 calls for service from Dec. 24 to Dec. 31 as the year wrapped up, including a reported break and enter to a residence on the 6000 block of Little Green Lake Road on Dec. 26. Lamb said a door to the residence had been damaged and that jewellery, food items and keys were taken by the perpetrator(s).

"An older dark-coloured Chevrolet truck was observed leaving the property at approximately 1:30 p.m on the same date and it is believed to have been associated to the incident," Lamb added.

Vehicle stolen from Scott Road

The next day on Friday, Dec. 27 RCMP responded to reports of a vehicle taken from a residence on Scott Road.

Lamb said the vehicle, described as a black 2000 GMC Yukon SUV, was running and being warmed up only a few minutes before the theft, which is believed to have occurred exactly at 9:15 a.m. The vehicle has since been found abandoned in an alley behind Third Street.

Curfew violated arrested

A female breaching the conditions of her release was arrested by the 100 Mile House RCMP.

The incident occurred on Dec. 28, when Lamb said officers were responding to an unrelated incident on 103 Mile Lake Road. While in the area Lamb said officers observed the female in a vehicle at another residence, which was a breach of her conditions concerning a curfew.

Officers then arrested the woman and are holding her for a subsequent appearance in court.

Homeowner catches BnE suspect in the act

100 Mile House RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a residence on Lake Crest Road on Dec. 30.

Lamb said the complainant had reported hearing a noise and when they went to investigate discovered an unknown male standing in the residence near a doorway. Upon being discovered the suspect fled on foot.

"Police attended and made extensive patrols in the area. It is believed the male crossed the highway and walked through a large field," Lamb said. "A set of keys were stolen and it appears the male also was looking to try and get into other outbuildings on the property."

The suspect is described as being slim with black or dark brown hair and was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie at the time of the incident. Lamb said the incident occurred around 8 a.m. on Dec. 30.

Motorcycle stolen from Bridge Lake North Road

On December 30, 2024, RCMP received a report of a stolen motorcycle taken from a property on Bridge Lake North Road. Lamb said that a white and blue Yamaha YZ80 was taken. It is not known when the incident occurred.
