Ballet Kelowna is hoping to end its season on a high note—both on stage and in fundraising.

The Relevé: Help Us Rise Spring Campaign, aims to raise $75,000 by June 30. The effort got a lift thanks to the Thomas Alan Budd Foundation, which has pledged $10,000 in matching funds.

Ticket sales and government grants cover just part of the non-profit company’s operating costs. Private donations make up about 30 per cent of Ballet Kelowna’s revenue, helping the company continue its mission of creating and sharing original Canadian dance.

“Together with our valued family of supporters, Ballet Kelowna has evolved into a pivotal force within Canada’s dance landscape, championing the creation and presentation of contemporary ballet that resonates with diverse audiences across the country,” said Simone Orlando, the company’s Artistic Director and CEO.

The company premiered three new works in its 2024–25 season, which also featured two company premieres. Off the stage, Ballet Kelowna continues to grow its community outreach with programs like the POP-UP SERIES and IN MOTION Adult Dance classes.

“As we near the end of the current season, we hope you will support Ballet Kelowna with a pledge to our Relevé: Help Us Rise Spring Campaign,” said Orlando. “In ballet, a relevé is a movement in which a dancer rises on the tips of their toes. Your gift will help us sustain our activities and lift us to new heights in our mission to bring compelling and inspiring dance to audiences locally, nationally, and internationally.”

To donate, visit the Ballet Kelowna website or call 250-762-6105.
