Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra conductor Gregory Johnson and his musicians are gearing up for their spring concert 'May the 4th Be With You' at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.

May 2, 2025 • The Night of Hope Gala, a fundraiser for Ruth and Naomi's Mission, is Friday, May 2 at Bridlewoods Event Centre (46191 Chilliwack Lake Rd.) from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It will be an evening of stories about hope and transformation, plus there will be a live and silent auction, dinner, entertainment by comedian Cliff Prang, and more. May 2 to 4, 2025 • Art From the Heart, a show and sale by students taking classes at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, is on May 2 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., May 3 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and May 4 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the cultural centre.

May 3, 2025 • The Secret Soirée 'Kentucky Derby', a fundraiser event for Chilliwack Community Services, is Saturday, May 3 at 6 p.m. That night, people meet at Frankie's Italian Kitchen and will be whisked away to a secret location. May 3, 2025 • Kele Fleming and Matthew Presidente perform at Bozzini's on May 3 at 9 p.m. (doors open at 8 p.m.). Tickets are $22.50 and available at Bozzini's, or by calling 604-792-0744.

May 3, 2025 • The Chilliwack Garden Club's annual Plant Sale is at Cookes Presbyterian Church hall (45825 Wellington Ave.) on Saturday, May 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out. There will be a large selection of perennials, annual and vegetable seedlings and much more all donated and grown by club members. This is a cash-only event. May 3, 2025 • People can take in an evening of inspirational music and storytelling with the nine-member Fehr Family Band featuring James and Heather Fehr and their children. The concert is free, with a freewill offering to raise money for Christian schools in Latin America. May 3, 2025 • The City of Chilliwack is hosting a Futures Fair on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Vedder Park (45450 Petawawa Rd.). This all-ages event features free face painting, lawn games, and interactive stations exploring the draft concepts and policy direction for the city’s updated Official Community Plan, Chilliwack 2050. May 4, 2025 • The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary is having its annual Spring Garage Sale on May 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5661 Vedder Rd. For sale will be baking, books, music, plants and more. There will also be raffles, hot dogs, and the bar will open. Cash or debit only. Admission is free.

May 6, 2025 • Chilliwack School District band students will take part in a district-wide performance of The UnBroken Project by Randall Standridge on Tuesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. This collaborative concert will feature students from every middle and high school in the district, showcasing all nine pieces from the project, a musical initiative aimed at sparking meaningful conversations around mental health. Admission is by donation, with all proceeds supporting the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre. Doors open at 6 p.m. Local organizations dedicated to youth mental health will be on-site to share resources and guidance for both youth and their guardians on how to foster open, supportive dialogue about mental well-being.

May 7, 2025 • Latria – a collective worship evening is Wednesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Church (46048 Gore Ave.). The night features music by Danielle and Drew McTaggart, and communion by Rev. Lorie Martin. This is a drop-in event.

May 8 and 22, 2025 • Library for All is an inclusive program for adults 19+, regardless of abilities, at the Chilliwack Library. Bring friends, family members or caregivers. Special guests and activities! Snacks! New Connections! In Collaboration with Inclusion Society of Chilliwack. It’s happening on May 8 (Nintendo switch) and May 22 (social games and activities) from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is a drop-in event.

May 9 to 11, 2025 • The Chilliwack Players Guild presents Hector, an original play written by Clint Hames from May 9 to 11 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. Show times are at 7:30 p.m. on May 9 and 10, and 2 p.m. on May 11. May 9, 2025 • The Chillsounds '60s Revue is at the Vineyard Community centre on Friday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m. Music will be by The Maybelles, The Lounge Hounds, Dion Weisbrod of the Unbranded, Leo Nickle of Like Bears, Jenny Coleman, Ben Thorne of Dealer's Choice and Chillsounds. May 10, 2025 • Chilliwack's second-oldest school, Cheam Elementary, is celebrating its 150th anniversary on Saturday, May 10 at 9895 Banford Rd. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. People can learn about the school's history, tour the 73-year-old building, see old photos and artifacts. Students will put on a talent show, sing songs, and have artwork and other items on display. There will be old-time carnival games, and a hot-dog sale as well. Everyone is welcome. People are advised they may have to walk a distance as parking might be a bit of an issue.

May 10, 2025 • Sardis Secondary School's 41st annual Mother's Day Plant Sale is Saturday, May 10 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 45460 Stevenson Rd. Money raised goes towards the purchase and installation of a greenhouse at the school's off-site farm.

May 10, 2025 • The Owl and The Cat Bookery is hosting the inaugural Chilliwack Book Festival at the Atrium of the UFV campus on May 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be about two dozen local B.C. authors there, presentations, and Pete the Cat. May 10, 2025 • The seventh annual Thrifty Boutique Fashionista Fashion Show is Saturday, May 10 at 6 p.m. at Evergreen Hall (9291 Corbould St.). The night will also include a curated pop-up boutique, silent auction, penny social, door prizes, complimentary glass of champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar. Tickets $30 and only available at the Thrifty Boutique (101-7955 Evans Rd.). All proceeds support programming for the Chilliwack Hospice Society. May 10, 2025 • Head to Cultus Lake to watch catamarans with their colourful sails at the season opening Hobie Class sailing regatta on May 10. The event will feature top catamaran sailors from across the Pacific Northwest with the first race starting at noon. May 10, 2025 • The Shift Workout Event is at Greendale Acres Farm (41905 Yale Rd. W.) on May 10. This is a cardio and strength-training event with Michelle Bruys in collaboration with Land Studio and Café, Wilde Wellness and The Habit Project. Admission is $50 and includes food, beverages, swag bags and giveaways. Guests should bring a mat, running shoes, water bottle and towel and arrive 15 minutes early to set up prior to the event and are encouraged to stay afterwards and enjoy the farm. May 10 and 11, 2025 • The Greendale Tulip Dig is May 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day at Greendale Acres Farm (41905 Yale Rd. W.). People can literally take a piece of the farm home with them when dig up tulip bulbs to plant on their own property. Admission is $15 and includes 25 bulbs per person. Guests are asked to bring a shovel, ‘dress for the mess’, and store bulbs in a dry place prior to planting in the fall for stunning blooms next spring. May 11, 2025 • It's free admission for all moms at the Mother's Day Celebration event at Greendale Acres Farm (41905 Yale Rd. W.) on May 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The day features a pancake breakfast to kick off the day at 10 a.m. and one last chance to dig up tulip bulbs and take a piece of the farm home to plant on their own property. May 15 to 18, 2025 • Europa Super Circus makes its Canadian debut under the big top at the Chilliwack Coliseum from May 15 to 18. Performances include tight-wire acrobats, the Wheel of Death, all-star FMX ultimate circus riders, high-flying aerialists, roller skaters, and comedic clowns. May 16, 2025 • The Friday Every Day Café for Seniors is at the Chilliwack Library on Friday, May 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Seniors are welcome to join others for activities and light refreshments. This session: short films and discussions (Kanopy Short Films). This is a drop-in event.

May 16, 2025 • The Chilliwack Library hosts Painted Pet Portraits on Friday, May 16 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This beginner-friendly session, where teens can create a painted portrait of their pet (or an animal character) is for ages 13-18. All materials will be provided. Online registration is required.

May 16, 2025 • It’s Family Game Day at the Sardis Library on Friday, May 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Bring the family for a fun-filled afternoon of playing cards and board games, puzzles and laughter.  This is a drop-in program for families with children aged 6 and up.

May 17 and 18, 2025 • Head over to the Atchelitz Threshermen's Association for its annual Small Engine Show on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18 at 44146 Luckakuck Way (beside Heritage Park). There will be lots of action and most of the pioneer buildings will be open for viewing. Gramma's Grill will be open for breakfast and lunch. The following Saturday (May 24) is their first garage sale of the year from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

May 21 to June 21, 2025 • The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association presents exhibition Modern Mythology, a solo show by Kayla Neufeld Gowans, at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre from May 21 to June 21. Opening reception is set for Saturday, May 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

May 22 to 24, 2025 • The Auld Lang Syne Dog Association championship dog show is May 22 to 24 at Chilliwack Heritage Park. This is a free event and open to everyone. It includes various vendors, and a silent auction with proceeds going to the 'Wounded Warriors' to help pay for a therapy dog. Organizers of the dog show are asking people to bring donations of non-perishable items for the local food bank.

May 23 and 24, 2025 • The Floral Artists of the Fraser Valley invites the public to visit their spring show 'Spring Celebration' at Cottonwood Centre on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24. This will be a judged event showcasing the talents of the members of the club as they create/display exhibits using only fresh floral material.

May 24, 2025 • Boris Konovalov is having a classical piano recital on Saturday, May 24 at 3:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church (46420 Brooks Ave.). He will be performing Mozart's Sonata in A major (Alla Turca), Beethoven's Sonata No. 23 in F minor (Appassionata), Chopin's six Études Opus 25, and Liszt's Liebestraum (O, Love) and Hungarian Rhapsody No. 6. May 27, 2025 • Sound the Alarm presents 'A Whole New World: A Concert of Movie Musicals' Greatest Songs' on May 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, featuring popular songs from Disney and Hollywood movies. June 3 to Oct. 7, 2025 • Ready to shop local? Market at the Coliseum starts up again on Tuesday, June 3 and runs every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 7. The market features local growers, artisans, food and music, and is located at the corner of Hodgins Avenue and Ashwell Road (parking lot of the Chilliwack Coliseum). June 4, 2025 • The Chilliwack Early Years Fair is Wednesday, June 4 at the Sardis Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is geared towards kids aged five and younger and includes family picnic food boxes, games, activities, face painting, live music, and early-years information booths. June 7, 2025 • The 27th annual Gwynne Vaughan Park Plant Sale is Saturday, June 7 at the park on Hope River Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be more than 30 vendors selling plants and other items, plus there will be artisan booths, food, a silent auction, and live music. June 8, 2025 • The Fraser Valley Classic Car Show is Sunday, June 8 at the UFV Chilliwack campus (corner of Caen Avenue and Dieppe Street). This fundraiser event will support the Chilliwack General Hospital via the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation. June 14, 2025 • The Chilliwack Academy of Music presents benefit concert 'L’Amour de la Musique for the love of music' on Saturday, June 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. The show will highlight the musical achievements of the academy, and will include a selection of French-inspired hors d’oeuvres by chef Elizabeth Grimaldi. July 5, 2025 • The all-ages Controlled Chaos Music Festival is Saturday, July 5 at the Chilliwack Coliseum starting at 2 p.m. Bands include: Big Duke Sorrow, The Bobby's, Cows Go Moo, Whitey, Tayos, The Unbranded, Strawberry Blondes and The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. July 7 to Aug. 22, 2025 • Learn to Sail on Cultus Lake this summer with the Cultus Lake Sailing Club. Children, youth and adult programs available from July 7 to Aug. 22. The courses are a combination of dry land instruction and water-based training and cover the principles of sailing as well as basic water safety and righting of capsized boats. July 27, 2025 • The 6th annual Bannister Chrysler Car Show is Sunday, July 27 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at at 45730 Hocking Ave. The day will be packed with vintage and classic cars, live entertainment, food trucks, family fun and more. NOW to May 11, 2025 • Greendale Acres Farm (41905 Yale Rd. W.) kicks off its 2025 season with its Sweet Spring Flower and Animal Festival from March 27 to May 11. NOW to May 17, 2025 • ART33, the annual Chilliwack School District high school art show, is at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre art gallery from April 16 to May 17. The show features work by students in Grades 11 and 12. Opening reception is Saturday, April 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

NOW to May 21, 2025 • It’s Babytime every Wednesday until May 21 at the Sardis Library from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Babytime is a fun, social bonding activity for babies and caregivers. This program is best suited for children ages zero to two, but siblings are welcome. This helps babies develop speech and language skills through bouncing, singing and rhyming with stories. This is a drop-in event.

NOW to May 29, 2025 • Wiggle Time is at the Sardis Library on Thursdays until May 29, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Join others for games, crafts, songs and stories. By combining energy and fun with bounces, rhymes and songs, they practice co-ordination and social skills while building literacy and learning through play. This is a drop-in event.

NOW to June 2025 • The Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers, a non-profit modern social square dance group, is starting beginner classes on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Atchelitz Hall (6542 Lickman Rd.). Classes take place every Friday from September 2024 to June 2025. The lessons are filled with fun, fitness and friendly people. Having a partner is not necessary. The group is made up of a diverse age range of dancers. Teens are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

NOW to Aug. 31, 2025 • Sts'ailes carver Lek'hoosh Arnie Leon has his work on display in The Mystical Eagle Carving Exhibit in the lobby of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre (9201 Courbold St.). The show will feature his wood carvings as well as Noelani Leon's painting and drawings, totalling 45 pieces on display. The exhibit goes until Aug. 31.

NOW to November 2025 • The Atchelitz Thresherman's Association Pioneer Village and Farm Museum (44146 Luckakuck Way) is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. most Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays until November. For more, go to atchelitz.ca/home. Entrance is by donation.

Every Friday evening • Chilliwack Grapplers Wrestling, along with Chilliwack Community Services, is offering free drop-in wrestling for youth every Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chilliwack Landing Sports Centre on the second floor (45530 Spadina Ave.). It is led by 2008 Olympic Coach Americo Pena. No previous experience required. For ages 9 to 17. It includes games, snacks and wrestling. For more: infocgwa@gmail.com, or 604-997-5758.

The Chilliwack Chess Club meets twice a week where chess aficionados can connect, learn, and engage in friendly matches. It is open to everyone from beginners to grand masters. They meet Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Starbucks across from Real Canadian Superstore (45750 Luckakuck Way) and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church on Brooks Avenue.

First Saturday of each month • Very Very Improv Theatre, a professional company based in the Fraser Valley, has monthly performances at CoWork Chilliwack. Scott Campbell is leading a company of talented improvisers from across the Lower Mainland including Chilliwack-based comedian Cliff Prang. The shows happen on the first Saturday of every month at CoWork Chilliwack. Tickets for all performances are available at veryveryimprov.ca/tickets.

Every Tuesday night • Corky’s Irish Pub wants you to come be a rock star as they host karaoke every Tuesday night.

Every Wednesday morning • TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 1303 Chilliwack meets Wednesday mornings at the Lynnwood Retirement Residence at 9168 Corbould St. Weigh-in is at 8:15 a.m. followed by a meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. For information call 604-316-5202 or e-mail alees45@hotmail.com.

Second Thursday of each month • The Fraser Valley Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Association is actively searching for serving, non-serving, family members or any other personnel who have served in any function with the Patricias to join them every second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Chilliwack-Vedder Legion Branch 295 (5661 Vedder Rd.). Last Friday of every month • The Mount Cheam Lions hosts a spaghetti dinner on the last Friday of every month at the Lions Club (45580 Spadina Ave.). The cost is $10 and includes spaghetti, garlic toast, tea or coffee, and dessert. It goes from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Gamblers Anonymous is a non-profit fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a Gambling Problem.

Gam-Anon family groups • Is someone else's gambling affecting your life? Gam-Anon can help. They offer hope and help when a loved one has a gambling problem. Family and friends are welcomed whether or not the gambler seeks help or even recognizes the existence of a gambling problem.
