The Village of Clinton is currently hiring for the full-time position of Community Development Coordinator.
The CDC is accountable to the Chief Administrative Officer and will be responsible for creating, implementing, and evolving market-focused strategies to bring new investors to Clinton.
The CDC also functions as a liaison to local businesses and non-profit groups and assists in the development of the Village’s Five Year Economic Development Plan, investment package, and Downtown Revitalization and Business Façade Improvement Program. She or he also markets the cultural and recreation facilities in the Village.
The ideal candidate must be a strategic thinker and problem solver proficient with information technology. Possession of a Class 5 driver’s licence is also required, and relevant post-secondary or local government experience is considered an asset.
The position is subject to grant funding approval, and the expected start date is April 29, 2019. Additional information about the position and its requirements is available on the Village of Clinton’s website at https://village.clinton.bc.ca/.

Thompson-Nicola Regional District Invasive Plant Program
Was your property impacted by the Elephant Hill wildfire? If you answered “Yes”, I have good news! The Thompson-Nicola Regional District can help.
If your property has exposed soil that would benefit from seeding in 2019 to prevent weed invasion, the Invasive Plant Program can step in to assist. The TNRD has obtained funding from the Canadian Red Cross to work on private lands over the next three years to ensure that invasive plants aren’t given the opportunity to thrive in our region.

Easter events ahead: volunteers needed
The churches of Clinton will host a complimentary Easter Breakfast in the Clinton Memorial Hall on Sunday, April 21 at 9 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Later that day, kids under 12 and their families can hunt for chocolate eggs at the Spirit of Clinton Committee’s annual Easter Egg Hunt in Reg Conn Park. The Egg Hunt gets started at 1 p.m. rain, snow, or shine, so bring your basket for lots of goodies and fun.
Volunteers are still needed for this event. The Easter Bunny needs helpers to fill and hide eggs, but there are other ways to help. If you’d like to volunteer for the Easter Egg Hunt, or learn more about how you can contribute within the community in another way, please consider attending the upcoming Spirit of Clinton meeting at the Memorial Hall on Wednesday, April 17 at 7 p.m.
Thinking ahead: Parade registration
The Clinton and District Parade will take place starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, and registration for the event is now open. The annual Parade has become a well-loved tradition in Clinton. This year’s theme will be “Transportation Through the Ages” and there will also be live music from the Revelstoke Highlanders Pipe Band.
All entries in the Parade are free, but donations are welcomed. First and second place prize ribbons are awarded in each category. This year’s Parade sponsors include the Clinton and District Community Forest Ltd., West Fraser Chasm Mill, the Village of Clinton, Integris Credit Union, Clinton Seniors’ Association, and Zee Chevalier.

Kids Rock Bible Camp
Registration for this both of this year’s Kids Rock Bible Camps is now open at www.kidsrockcamp.com.
Kids Rock is a rustic summer camp that was established in 2006 by a group of volunteers at Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle in Clinton. The camp is held at Big Bar Lake Provincial Park, located approximately 40km from the Village, each July.
The Kids Camp—for kids aged 6 to 11—takes place from July 7 to 11, and the Teen Camp—for those aged 12 to 17—runs from July 12 to 18. Participants must be the appropriate age for their chosen camp on the first day of that camp.
