Elementary student donates hair for cancer
In the Feb. 27 edition of “The Rundown” I reported on David Stoddart School student Emma Blain—12 years old—who has spent the last few months raising money for cancer awareness. Blain has now raised $800 for cancer research, in addition to donating her hair.
Blain initially wanted to cut eight inches of hair off, but her whole pony tail ended up being 12 inches, so that’s what she submitted. She loves her new haircut and “can’t wait to grow it out and do it all over again”, says her mother Jennifer. Congratulations on all your hard work, Emma! You really have made a difference and should be proud.
Clinton Art and Cultural Society AGM ahead
The Clinton Art and Cultural Society will host its Annual General Meeting on Sunday, April 14 at 10 a.m. at Cordova Farm, Kelly Lake Road. The meeting will include the club’s election of officers and the payment of annual membership dues. Membership is accepted during April and May for the year. Adult memberships cost $10 but members under 19 years old can join for free.
A year-long membership grants free participation in all CACS events. All local artists are encouraged to join the club, no matter what events or artistic mediums may interest you. The group is hoping to find new members with new ideas, and hopes you’ll join them!
