Integris holds “Stocking Campaign”
Integris Credit Union will hold its annual “Stocking Campaign” again this year in the Village of Clinton. Stockings are available for pick-up at Integris until December 17.
The “Stocking Campaign” is an opportunity for residents of Clinton to give back to their community and spread Christmas cheer, specifically to those who need it most. Locals can stop by Integris to pick up an empty stocking to fill for someone who may be struggling or alone this holiday season. Participants can specify whether they would like to fill a men’s, women’s, or children’s stocking, and may even request to fill multiple stockings. Integris staff will deliver the filled stockings to those in need the week before Christmas, so residents must return their filled stockings to Integris by Monday, December 18.
Clinton Wildfire Recovery update
A collaborative Facebook page titled “Clinton Wildfire Recovery” has been set up by the Village of Clinton and the Village’s new Wildlife Recovery Manager, Daniela Dyck, in order to establish a public venue for conversations about wildfire recovery in Clinton.
New information will be posted on the page as it is received by Dyck, and residents are invited to share their stories, thoughts, and questions on the page, while also checking in for updates related to the Village’s recovery process. The page will be live until March 31, 2018, and can be found at http://bit.ly/2AKGzTN.
Since the page’s creation last week, Dyck has announced that she will conduct “business walks” throughout the Village, which will take place over the next two weeks. These visits will see Dyck meet with local business owners to better understand how they have been impacted by the Elephant Hill Wildfire. A survey has also been created and will be distributed by mail to the business community.
If you are not a business owner in Clinton and feel left out of the recovery process, Dyck has said that the social and environmental pillars for recovery will begin in early January 2018, and will consist of further opportunities for public engagement and input.

David Stoddart School news
The “Jingle Shop” has opened once again at David Stoddart School, so be sure to let your children know, and consider donating small and lightly used items to be sold in the shop. The “Jingle Shop” is full of small, affordable items—priced between $0.25 and $2—that allow students to shop for Christmas and holiday gifts for their family and friends.
The shop will be open each lunch hour in Mr. Waldie’s room until December 15 for students to browse and shop.
The annual Seniors’ Christmas Dinner will take place at David Stoddart School on December 20, and is open to all seniors in the community, including grandparents of students. Seniors and grandparents are formally invited to enjoy a lunch-time turkey dinner with all the fixings, followed by the dress rehearsal performance of the David Stoddart Christmas concert. The concert will take place later that day, at 6 p.m. in the gym.
A reminder that the free turkey dinner is an invitation extended from DSS students to local seniors and grandparents, not students’ parents. Parents are invited to volunteer their services for this event, and are encouraged to invite their children’s grandparents as well as elders in the community.
The last PAC meeting of 2017 will take place on Thursday, December 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at David Stoddart School, and the final day of classes for students will be Friday, December 22. On Monday, January 8, 2018, students will return to DSS for the first day back.
Village Office holiday hours
The Village of Clinton office will close for the holidays at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 22, and will re-open on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.
