The Pride Society of the Comox Valley Is Growing

"Join us for an all-ages festival celebrating visibility and community strength!" — PSCV

Comox Valley Pride Society has some exciting opportunities for the community to be part of their mission: to unite the Comox Valley Pride community, increase visibility, and celebrate diversity.

Share Your Voice, Shape Our Future

Comox Valley Pride has been working alongside ten diverse 2SLGBTQIA+ community members with lived experiences to guide this important work. Now, we’re inviting 2SLGBTQIA+ community members of all ages and intersecting identities to share their experiences with health, social services, work, school, and community.

Through focus groups, one-on-one conversations, and an upcoming survey, the goal is to understand experiences to help shape resources, inform policy, and strengthen a sense of belonging in the Comox Valley.

- $40 honorarium for participants

- After-care supports available

- ASL, language translation, and other accessibility supports can be requested

Celebrate With Us: Pride in the Park 2025!

This year, Pride in the Park will be on Saturday, Aug. 23. Also this year, Pride in the Park will be moving to a new location: Lewis Park in Courtenay.

"Join us for an all-ages festival celebrating visibility and community strength!" a release from PSCV says. "Enjoy local food vendors, community booths, 2SLGBTQIA+ performers, and artisan stalls. To make this day successful, we need community support!"

To bring Pride in the Park to life, organizers are currently seeking:

- Subcommittee Members – Help plan Pride in the Park and other Pride Week events.

- Sponsors – Your support helps cover essential costs to create a welcoming, vibrant celebration for all.

- Vendors – Applications open soon for booths at the outdoor festival.

- Volunteers – It takes 40–50 volunteers to make it all happen!

- Performers – Drag, spoken word, live music — bring your talents to the stage!

Expanding Pride Week

Stay tuned for announcements about:

- Workshops led by 2SLGBTQIA+ community members

- An event about and for 2SLGBTQIA+ disabled and immunocompromised folks

- A documentary capturing the history of Pride in the Comox Valley

"It's through such collaboration that we can make a real difference and send a powerful message of love, acceptance, and unity," a release from PSCV says.
