The Nov. 3 Marketplace was a wonderful success. The door prize was won by Verna Schmidt, while the Merchant Appreciation prize went to Helen Eagle, and the Peel ‘n’ Pay Raffle prize was won by Slim Trottier. The Guessing Game Christmas Village prize was taken home by Mervin Zimmerlee, and Helene Cade took the candies. Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraising endeavour in any way.
The Clinton Seniors’ Association held its AGM and elections on Nov. 15; congratulations to the incoming officers and directors. The new chairperson is Yvette May, while Joyce Witt will be vice-chairperson. Zee Chevalier is the secretary-treasurer, and the directors are Mary Burrage, Helene Cade, Isabel Haining, and Terry Tucker.
Villa board directors elected were Mary Burrage, Helene Cade, and Yvette May. Thank you to everyone who served on the Clinton Seniors’ Association board of officers and directors last year.
The Clinton Seniors’ Association Christmas dinner party will be in the Royal Canadian Legion basement on Dec. 5 at 5:30 pm; by invitation only.

What a cheery greeting it is. Forget your troubles, be joyful.
There is lots of fun and goodness in life, especially at Christmas.
When anyone wishes me a Merry Christmas, it always does me good,
for I recall that the Bible says “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.”
So the greeting “Merry Christmas” is really wishing you happiness, good health, and much joy.

Christmas is both a sacred religious holiday and a worldwide cultural special day. Around the world, people observe Christmas with traditions both religious and secular. Christians celebrate Christmas Day as the anniversary of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. Customs include exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, sharing meals with family and friends, and, of course, waiting for the arrival of Santa Claus.
