PHOTOS: Officers, athletes in Victoria celebrate Special Olympians

The Victoria version of the BC Law Enforcement Torch run to support Special Olympics BC hit the streets Saturday

The Victoria version of the BC Law Enforcement Torch run to support Special Olympics BC hit the streets Saturday (June 7).

Annually across the province, officers give their time and talents to lead a range of fundraising and awareness events and initiatives in order to support Special Olympics BC athletes and programs and build inclusion in their communities. The torch run is the signature event where law enforcement members run or walk alongside Special Olympics BC athletes and other members of their community to raise funds and awareness. Typically, events raise money for SOBC through community fundraising, donations and T-shirt sales.

In-person events run across a dozen communities in B.C. May 24 to June 8. Learn more about the organization or donate online at specialolympics.ca/british-columbia/bc-letr-torch-run.
