Langley seniors centre could not operate without volunteer support

Volunteers honoured for their work

Volunteer Week gave the board and staff at the Langley Senior Resources Society centre reason to celebrate the people who make the centre a hub for the community.

"As the backbone of our organization, their commitment creates a stronger, more caring community for everyone – we all benefit from their efforts," said executive director Kate Ludlam. "Many of our volunteers wear more than one hat. Some help with administrative work or at our social events, others help with our rec centre or [adult day program] programs and services, some teach classes, others help with meals or social connection."

On May 1, the centre held a volunteer appreciation gathering with its many helpers able to attend.

"Without their time and kindness, many LSRS activities simply wouldn't happen," Ludlam noted.
