A brand-new fundraiser for the Chilliwack food bank was a big success last weekend.
The Chilliwack Puzzle Sale raised a total of $10,075 for the Chilliwack Salvation Army Food Bank.
Steve Klassen, who launched the event, said the inaugural two-day puzzle sale went very well and it wouldn’t have been possible without the community who both donated and bought puzzles, and the volunteers who helped.
“Everything worked very smoothly. Our volunteers were incredible, everything was positive, the community really responded,” he said.
Klassen started the event after another puzzle sale, put on by the Friends of the Chilliwack Libraries, hadn’t happened since 2020.
He put the call out for puzzle donations in September, and a whopping 2,800 puzzles came flooding in. Of those, more than 2,200 sold.

It took about 20 volunteers to run the sale which ran Oct. 27 and Oct. 28 at Central Community Church.
Klassen said they will be making it an annual event. People can expect next year’s Chilliwack Puzzle Sale to fall around the same time in October 2024.
