Hot Rod Saturday will roll July 5 outside Elements Casino on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.
It will be a busy day on the south end of the ‘Grounds as the 9th annual Hot Rod Show will run right next to the National Truck Show being held at the adjacent B.C. Vintage Truck Museum.
Walt Wagner, one of the Hot Rod Show organizers, told the Cloverdale Reporter visitors can expect to see hundreds of cars.
“The car show attracts over 500 hot rods, classics, antiques, and trucks,” he said. “All vehicles are welcome.”
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with registration for show vehicles opening at 9 a.m. (Registration is $20 per vehicle.)
Automobile types on display will fall under the categories: classic, collectibles, vintage, hot rod cars, and trucks.
Hosted by the British Columbia Hot Rod Association (BCHRA), Wagner said the event will feature: raffle draws, a BBQ, and a beer garden. Rainbow Ice Cream and Mr. Mini Donut will be on hand too. There will also be a DJ onsite spinning tracks throughout the day.
The BCHRA also has 12 vendors booked so far. The vendors will all be selling car-related items.
Organizers expect to draw between 3,000 and 4,000 people during the five-hour event.
Admission is free and trophies will be presented at 3 p.m.
Wagner added it’ll be “fun for all ages."
"You won’t want to miss this," he said.
