For the past several days water has been pouring off the hills along Loon Lake Road, with many small springs becoming waterfalls.

This could be a wonderful sight under different conditions. However, at this time these streams are damaging properties on their way into the lake or creek.

Loon Creek between Loon Lake and Hihium Creek is slowly rising. Meanwhile, Hihium Creek is in full flood and has spread over a great deal of the land as it leaves Hihium Canyon approaching Loon Creek, causing extensive damage to the land. No dwellings or buildings are endangered.

Loon Creek below the entry of Hihium is now also flooding, and low-lying areas and fields are filling up. Loon Lake Road at the canyon is being threatened, and over the weekend the road appeared to be closed on and off as Highways maintenance crews worked to clear blockages in the culvert in the canyon and reinforce areas that were being undercut. However, it is difficult to find accurate information on the status of this road at any particular time.
