Things are about to get wild and wild in Langford – a new spray park has opened in Glen Lake Beach Park.
Designed with families in mind, the new spray park offers a fun, safe and inclusive space for children and people of all ages, said a City of Langford news release.
The new park also includes a splash pad and picnic tables, perfect for family gatherings and activities. And with its concrete pad, it is easily accessible directly from the gravel path that leads to the playground and lake.
Located across the trail from the beach, at 3076 Shoreview Dr., the new spray park replaces its predecessor, which in recent years was experiencing increasing maintenance issues due to its proximity to the beach.
This resulted in sand accumulation, making it challenging to use and maintain, explains the city.

The remodelling also involved the addition of a bioswale designed by the project biologist to ensure compliance with environmental and health authority regulations, as well as to manage surface water runoff sustainably.
Nestled in the heart of Glen Lake Beach Park, visitors can also enjoy additional amenities, including a boat launch, fishing pier, sandy beach, walking trails and open green space.
“The City of Langford encourages residents and visitors to visit and enjoy the updated Glen Lake Spray Park,” said the city’s news release.
With a late spring “heat event” on the horizon for Greater Victoria, the spray park will bring welcome relief for families looking to cool off.
Starting Saturday (June 7), much of Vancouver Island and the South Coast will see higher-than-usual temperatures for this time of year, according to Environment Canada.
A ridge of high pressure is expected to bring temperatures in the high 20s to low 30s with overnight lows in the low to mid teens. High temperatures will persist into early next week.
