The monthly meeting of the Ashcroft-Cache Creek Seniors’ Centre was held at the centre at 1 p.m. on June 15, with nine members in attendance. We all stood at attention, faced our Canadian flag, and sang “O Canada”, then enjoyed conversation about Canadians celebrating our 150th anniversary in 2017.
President Muriel Scallon brought the meeting to order, and Donna Tetrault read the minutes from the annual general meeting in May.
A date to note is October 28, when there will be a Harvest Bazaar at the centre. Donations of baking and crafts would be appreciated. Raffle tickets will be available at the Fall Fair on September 10, as well as at the centre.
Congratulations to Lloyd Johnson, the Desert Sands Community School student who was chosen to receive our bursary this year.
The centre will close for the summer on June 30, and will reopen on September 5, and we hope that all the members will return and bring a friend to the centre at 601 Bancroft Street.
