A Colwood restaurant will be slicing its last pizza and pouring its final craft beer at the end of July.
Sawmill Taphouse and Grill, located at 328 Wale Rd., announced July 2 it would be closing for the final time on July 31, "After many pints poured, plates served, laughs shared and memories made," said the restaurant's social media post, addressed to its "cherished community."
"This decision wasn’t easy – it comes with heavy hearts but also immense gratitude," the post continues. "We are endlessly thankful to our incredible staff, loyal guests, local suppliers and everyone who made Sawmill more than just a restaurant."
A reason for the closure has yet to be confirmed.
The taphouse and grill opened in March last year. Its Wale Road location was previously home to 328 Taphouse and Grill, which closed after seven years of business in February 2024.
The restaurant is encouraging locals to stop by before it closes to raise a last glass, relive favourite moments, and give Sawmill "the send-off it deserves."
Fans of the restaurant can still dine at its Chemainus location.
